Meghan Kennedy
As a Marine Corps brat, Meghan Kennedy had to face the challenges of moving, making new friends, and going to new schools; however, her biggest challenge in life—being diagnosed with epilepsy at age 18—has been what has made her the strongest.
She has overcome many challenges from living without a license, starting a new career and moving to California and, unfortunately, the general fears and stigma associated with epilepsy. Instead of hiding things, she has become proactive in educating the public by talking about her experiences with epilepsy and is the Founder and Executive Director of Epilepsy Education Everywhere.
She has made transitions as needed to continue living life positively despite the challenges of epilepsy. Two years ago she did what most people would only dream of doing—she took the leap from her career as a librarian to focus on growing Epilepsy Education Everywhere.
She is currently a co-chair for the Inland Empire Disabilities Collaborative as well as a member of TEAM Referral Network, and the National Association of Women Business Owners.
Meghan enjoys traveling, Cribbage, movies, racquetball, swimming, and ballroom dancing. She grew up enjoying the old Hollywood musicals as well as Big Band music, especially Glenn Miller, putting swing dancing at the top of the list. In 2008, she took a 5-week cross-country road trip to celebrate her birthday. Her travel buddy was Flat Stanley. She resides in Moreno Valley, California, with her kitties Precious and Snowball.
